Internet being inoperable and the impact it would have on Retail Establishment.

If the entire internet was rendered inoperable for one week, I feel this would a big issue on retail establishment. Most retailers rely heavily on computers when checking customers out, purchasing inventory, and many other things. In an article "Using the Internet to Support Retailers" it says that the internet saves retailers time, and if its inoperable the will cause retailers to lose valuable time that they could use else where. It also states that the internet helps improve productivity and increase profits. Retailers could lose profits and become backed up on inventory, shipment dates, pricing, and other potential benefits. The internet is the biggest attribute to retailing companies.
